How to build a gingerbread house

1. Rolling and cutting

• Roll out dough to about 5 mm thickness.

• Cut out the following shapes:

  • 3× rectangles – 2 side walls + 1 base

  • 2× facades – square with triangle (front + back)

  • 2× roofs – rectangles

  • 2× stars – decorations for the rooftop

  • 1× circle – use it to cut out a window in the front facade before baking

2. Baking

• Place all pieces on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

• Cut the window out of the front wall before baking.

• Bake until golden brown and let cool completely.

⚠️ Note: Assemble the house only after all parts have baked and cooled.

3. Assembling the house

1. Base: Start with the base rectangle.

2. Side walls: Attach the two side rectangles.

3. Facades: Fix the front and back walls in place.

4. Roof: Add the two roof rectangles on top.

5. Decorations: Place the stars on the rooftop or decorate as you wish.

💡 Tip: Use royal icing as glue – it sets quickly and holds well.
